Information For Authors

The Social Trends and Policy Review (STPR) welcomes submissions of original, high-quality scholarly work that advances understanding of contemporary social issues, emerging trends, and their implications for policy. The journal seeks contributions that combine academic rigor with policy relevance, offering insights that can inform governance, social innovation, and public discourse.


1. Types of Submissions Accepted

STPR publishes a variety of article types, including:

  • Original Research Articles – Empirical or theoretical studies with significant contributions to social science and policy debates.

  • Review Articles – Systematic or narrative reviews summarizing the current state of knowledge.

  • Policy Analyses – In-depth evaluations of existing or proposed policies, supported by evidence.

  • Case Studies – Detailed examinations of specific social or policy interventions.

  • Commentaries and Opinion Pieces – Expert reflections on urgent societal issues.

  • Book Reviews – Scholarly assessments of recently published works relevant to the journal’s scope.


2. Submission Process

  • All manuscripts must be submitted via the journal’s online submission system.

  • Submissions must be written in clear, professional English.

  • The manuscript should include:

    • Title page with author names, affiliations, and contact details.

    • Abstract (max. 250 words) summarizing objectives, methods, findings, and conclusions.

    • 4–6 keywords for indexing and discoverability.

    • Main text structured according to article type.

    • References following the APA style (or other format specified in the Author Guidelines).


3. Ethical Requirements

  • Submissions must be original and not under consideration by another journal.

  • Authors must follow the Publication Ethics and Plagiarism Policy of STPR.

  • Research involving human participants or animals must include evidence of ethical approval from a recognized review board.

  • All potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed.


4. Peer Review

  • STPR operates a triple-blind peer review process.

  • At least two independent reviewers evaluate each manuscript.

  • Authors may be asked to revise their work in response to reviewer comments before acceptance.


5. Author Rights

  • Authors retain copyright of their work but grant STPR a license to publish and disseminate it.

  • Authors may self-archive the preprint, postprint, or final published version in repositories, provided proper citation to STPR is included.


6. Article Processing Charges (APCs) (if applicable)

  • STPR may charge APCs to cover peer review, editing, and publication costs.

  • Fee waivers or discounts may be available for authors from low-income countries or for special cases approved by the editorial board.


7. How to Prepare Your Manuscript

  • Follow the STPR Author Guidelines for formatting, referencing, and figure/table preparation.

  • Ensure high-resolution images and properly formatted tables.

  • Use inclusive and non-discriminatory language.


8. Editorial Support

  • The editorial team provides guidance throughout the submission and review process.

  • Language editing services may be recommended for authors who need assistance improving grammar and clarity.
