Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Privacy Statement

The Social Trends and Policy Review (STPR) is committed to protecting the privacy, confidentiality, and personal data of its authors, reviewers, editors, and readers. This policy outlines what information we collect, how it is used, and the measures we take to safeguard it.

a) From Authors:

  • Full name, institutional affiliation, job title, and contact details.

  • ORCID ID (if provided).

  • Manuscript files, supplementary data, and disclosure statements.

  • Ethics approval documentation (where applicable).

b) From Reviewers:

  • Name, institutional affiliation, email address, and areas of expertise.

  • Reviewing history and reviewer comments.

c) From Readers/Website Visitors:

  • Email addresses (when signing up for alerts or newsletters).

  • Non-identifiable website usage statistics via cookies and analytics tools.


2. How We Use the Information

We use collected information solely for purposes related to the editorial and publication process, including:

  • Processing and managing manuscript submissions.

  • Communicating with authors, reviewers, and editors.

  • Maintaining accurate academic and bibliographic records.

  • Sending journal announcements, calls for papers, or updates (only to those who opt in).


3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

  • No Unauthorised Sharing: STPR does not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

  • Service Providers: Information may be shared with trusted partners (e.g., plagiarism detection services, typesetting providers) strictly for publication-related functions.

  • Legal Compliance: Data may be disclosed when required by law or court order.


4. Data Storage and Security

  • All personal and manuscript data are stored on secure, password-protected servers with regular backups.

  • Access to sensitive information is restricted to authorized editorial and administrative staff.

  • Data transfers are encrypted wherever possible.


5. Cookies and Website Analytics

  • The STPR website may use cookies to enhance user experience and collect anonymous traffic statistics.

6. Rights of Authors, Reviewers, and Readers

  • Manuscript and peer review records are retained permanently as part of the scholarly archive.
